Visit to Big Sur and Monterey

Amanda and I visited Big Sur with my mother and Bill.  But as usual, my camera is glued to the landscape.

...though Amanda makes occasional appearances in the field of view.  These last two picture were looking in two directions from the same roadside turnoff.

A very popular rock... sea lions waiting for a turn at the sunny top.

Water falling onto a beach at a bright blue cove, Pfieffer Burns State Park.

Our final destination along the Big Sur coast was an elephant seal beach.

Elephant seal bulls patrolled the shallows, always looking for a fight.

Further out beyond the seals, a sea otter floated along idly.

Leopard shark and anchovy school at Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Vivid coral and reef fish.

The curious-looking cuttlefish.

My mother warned the jellyfish not to get their tentacles tangled up.

Horses of the sea.

Monarchs overwintering at the Pacific Grove butterfly sanctuary.
